(Zoom) Writing as Activism with Robert Stubblefield

April 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Writing is like many things in this world. It is a tool and not an end-all be-all solution to everything. However, words, especially that of the written word, have power and can help motivate and inspire those to speak up and demand change as well as use their voice in different ways. From ancient times to the present, writing has been a tool to help capture and describe the winds of change and provide a blueprint for future generations in terms of what to do and what not to do when it comes to writing for change. Writing helps give a glimpse on other groups’ interpretations and thought processes during tumultuous times. Here in this new era, poet and author, Robert Subblefield, hopes to give a glimpse into how writers, no matter the genre, can use their writing to help society move forward by observing, imagining, and creating the world-that-could-be from the world-that-is.
