Annapolis MWA September Meeting With Maryland writer Sarah Pinsker

Local author and musician Sarah Pinsker has agreed to speak at the Annapolis Chapter meeting of the Maryland Writers’ Association on Wednesday September 18, 2013. Her talk is entitled “What Being a Touring Musician Taught Me About Writing & Selling Science Fiction, Fantasy, & Literary Fiction”.

The meeting is open to the public and free to MWA members and first-time guests. All others may pay $5.00. Annual dues to MWA are $40.00 and include other benefits on top of monthly attendance. MWA meetings meet the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm in room 205 at Maryland Hall. Maryland Hall is located at 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Sarah Pinsker

As a musician, Sarah writes songs about the people who have slipped through the cracks: graffiti artists, sideshow stars, and others who lurk around the dark borders of dreams. Her albums, released on various indie labels, are available on iTunes and CDBaby. Live videos of her performances are available on youtube under her name and her band’s name, the Stalking Horses.

Sarah’s novel “Pilot Program” won the Gold Award in the 2012 MWA Novel contest (Sci-Fi category). , and her story “Twenty Ways the Desert Could Kill You” was voted Daily Science Fiction’s top story of 2012.
